A lot of very shocking moments
Friday night, as the first show after NMW's 6 year anniversary played
out!
The show opened up with LPC facing off against The Eagle Scout. The
crowd definitely wanted to see Eagle Scout score himself a victory here,
but the crowds cheering was not enough to keep LPC from getting the
clean win.
Next up was "Mr. Hollywood" Stan Sallinger interview segment, The
Hollywood Square. Stan's guest on the show was very important. As
announced by Ms. Watson, this person was now the new NMW President.
Prof. Phillip H. Dempsey, who was voted the winner of the debate by the
NMW board of Directors after seeing Jimmy "The Bruiser" Osborne hit PHD
with a chair! PHD's presidency becomes effective the first of the year.
PHD then called out a member of his Dean's List, Sage Ramsey. Sage, who
was on crutches, made his way to the ring. He blamed Sage for the loss
of the Tag Belts at November Reign, and before you knew it, Stan was
jumping him from behind, as PHD was screaming at him. Toga Steve then
came charging to the ring for the save! He cleared PHD and Stan out of
the ring, and just when it seemed he and Sage had the upper hand, he
attacked Sage himself, and shown that he had aligned himself with the
new president! A beaten sage was left in the ring alone, as Stan, PHD,
and Toga Steve all left together.
"Danger!" Doug Fraze made his way to the ring next, and announced that
since Tank couldn't be there tonight, and since there are currently no
tag teams for them to defend their titles against, he was going to make
a "Danger Zone" match. Anyone can compete, and he would place a contract
for #1 contendership to the Tag Titles on a pole. The winner would be
able to pick a partner of their choice and get the match. So, 4
contestants came to the ring: Rian Cruz, Rev. Guy Smith, Chris Hazard,
and "The Man" Matt Boston. Cruz and Smith ended up worrying more about
each other than the contract, as the two just began brawling with each
other. Hazard and Boston fought over the contract, but Hazard was able
to get himself to it first to gain #1 Contendership to the Tag Team
Titles.
Benz was up for singles action next, as he made his way to the ring with
his partner Scotty Cash and manager Jackie Sazerack. Hardcore KC then
came out to a huge ovation from the crowd! Benz and his partners tried
several cheap tactics to get the win on KC, but it was not enough to
keep him down, as KC was able to pull off the victory. After the match,
Scotty Cash got on the mic and accused KC of cheating, and demanded a
match with him right there. KC ran back into the ring, hit a sunset
flip, and got the 1-2-3 on Scotty Cash right away!
the Khaos Kidd came to the ring dressed as John Cena, but was soon cut
off by Rev. Smith. Smith started preaching to Kidd, telling him that RON
needed him back, trying to convince him to return to the Church of RON.
it was then that the Kidd rapped on Smith. Smith then blessed his hand,
and attached the I-RON Claw to Kidd, claiming to be "exorcising the
demons" from him. Wells, who Kidd was scheduled to wrestle, ran down to
the ring and hit Smith with a Whiplash. Wells and Kidd then began there
match. It ended badly though, as Guy got himself involved again, helping
cost Wells the match. Shockingly, it appears that the Kidd has realigned
himself with RON and Rev. Smith, and has reverted back to Steven bishop.
"Tricky" Dick Moore made his way out, pumped up and ready for his match.
Then Jackie followed, grabbing the mic and blaming him for the loss at
Nov. Reign. he claimed he's the reason PTP has left. he told Tricky that
he is still under contract, which means that he owns him and will do
whatever it takes to make things difficult for him. He chose Eric Logan
as his opponent tonight, because he knows that Tricky can't beat him!
Logan came out, and he and Tricky offered each other a handshake. The
two fought a solid match, but Tricky was able to pull off the win, much
to the dismay of Jackie.
"The Spotlight" Spencer Powers with Cherry Malone came out to face off
against Billy Morgan with PHD. Billy started the match with the upper
hand. Soon, PHD grabbed Billy and told him he had important business to
attend too, and he left ringside. This allowed Spencer to get the upper
hand. The crowd was starting to get behind Billy Morgan, but Spencer was
able to defeat him after Cherry interfered. PHD made his way back to the
ring after the match. Billy got on the mic and explained that he has
been held down for some time now, and delivered a superkick right to the
face of PHD! Billy left to a huge ovation from the crowd!
Finally it was time for the main event. A rematch between Shard and
Matthews. This time, both titles were on the line. Just as it was at
Nov. Reign, the two bought a very back and forth match. Soon, the
referee was knocked out, leaving the two men still battling each other.
Suddenly, it seemed as though Shard was injured severely, as he fell to
the mat and grabbed his knee. Matthews stopped, and tried to help him
up. Shard rolled out of the ring as security came to take him to the
back. Matthews turned his back and checked on the ref, when suddenly
Shard grabbed a chair and jumped back into the ring. He repeatedly
blasted The Marvel with a chair, over and over again. He then awoke the
ref, and covered Matthews for the 1-2-3. Michael Shard has become the
first ever NMW Double Champion!
So, what's next? Shard is the new NMW Champion, as well as the CI
Champion, but he had to play dirty to get it. What does this new mean
streak mean for Shard? Has he reverted back to his old ways? And what
does The Marvel have to say about it?
