Another great night here at New
Midwest Wrestling! If you missed it, here are the results from Broken
Promises!
The show opened up with Rian Cruz facing off against Steven Bishop! Rian
has spent the last few months in a battle against the members of the
Church of RON. During the match, Guy Smith's music hit out of no where,
distracting Bishop, who was ready for Guy to run down and fight him.
This gave Rian the opportunity to catch Bishop off guard, hitting him
with the Cruz Control out of The Seventh Day, and getting the 1-2-3!
Smooth GQ Suavey vs. Blake Shelton was next in line. Blake Shelton, a
very new guy to the NMW shows, was able to hold his own quite well.
However, in the end, Smooth was able to pull off the victory.
As soon as the match ended, NMW double champion Michael Shard came to
the ring. He announced that he is the Heavyweight and CI champ, and
therefore can pick his opponents, and wrestle wherever and whenever he
wishes. And right now he's decided to defend the CI title against Smooth
GQ! He immediately started beating down an already tired Smooth GQ.
Smooth was able to make a small comeback, but in the end, Shard was able
to get the submission victory using The Cutting Edge.
Eric Ruffington came out to the ring next and grabbed a mic. He
proclaimed himself as the "Up & Comer", and no longer wants to be
referred to as "The Wrangler." He also noted that since Xavier did not
pick him for the big 10-man later on, he's going to prove himself to PHD
by winning the tag titles tonight with a random partner he has chosen.
He introduced Nathan Ironside, and then the NMW Tag Team Champs "Danger"
Doug Fraze and Tank Roberts, better known as Weapons of Mass
Destruction, made their way out for a title match. Unfortunately for
Ruffington, he and his chosen partner were unable to keep the WMD's
down, as Tank and Danger once again get the pin fall victory, and retain
their championships!
Jewels Vega squared off against Joker, one half of the Xtreme Dream
Team. Jewels put up a hell of a fight, having the fans on his side the
entire match! However, he was unable to stay on top, as Joker got the
win.
Immediately following, Joker's partner Reid Reign wrestles Billy Morgan.
Morgan came in like a house of fire, and certainly should have had the
win. But, after much interference from joker, Reign was able to get the
victory.
Next up was the 10-Man Elimination match! Steven Xavier, "The Man" Matt
Boston, "Mr. Hollywood" Stan Sallinger, Chris Hazard, and "The
Spotlight" Spencer Powers took on "The Marvel" Shane Matthews, Eric
Logan, Sage Ramsey, Guy Smith, and Rip Mystic! In the end, "The
Marvel's" team was triumphant, as he and a fan favorite Guy Smith were
the two sole survivors! But soon after the match, Shard attacked
Matthews and left him lying in the ring, as the show drew to a close.
