The first NMW show of the year was
a great one indeed! For those who didn't make the show for some crazy
reason, here are your official results.
The show started off with the Church of RON's Steven Bishop facing off
against Eric Logan who decided he was going to be "The Knight Rider" for
the evening. Unfortunately his crazy gimmick for the night was unable to
keep him from being hit by "The Seventh Day" from Bishop, and Bishop got
the win.
New NMW President Phillip H. Dempsey made his way to the ring along with
Eric Ruffington and Steven E. Xavier to deliver his State of the NMW
Address. Dempsey covered quite a few topics, including the indefinite
suspension of former president Jason Devall, announcing that Sage Ramsey
is not longer in title contention, and announcing a HUGE 10 man match at
Broken Promises featuring the 10 Top Talent of New Midwest Wrestling!
Tricky Dick Moore and Jackie Sazerack came out next. Jackie once again
tried to screw Tricky over, sating this time he has recruited two men,
The Extreme Dream Team, to take out Tricky. Tricky said he knew Jackie
would pull something like this, so he found someone to back him up, and
introduce The Eagle Scout. The two put up quote a fight against the
Dream Team, but were unsuccessful, as Eagle Scout took the pin. However,
Tricky got his hands on Jackie, giving him a nasty chair shot that
resulted in his former manager having to be rushed to the hospital!
A vignette plays on the screen showing Cherry Malone sitting backstage.
Rip Mystic walks up to her, and tells her he needs her for something,
and drags her off.
Rian Cruz faced off against the Church of RON's Rian Cruz next. During
the match, RON sent Bishop in with a chair, and told Guy to use it on
Rian. He refused to do so. When he picked Rian up for "The Little
Inspiration", she hit him with "The Cruz Control" out of no where, and
then rolled him up for the win! After the match, RON got on the mike,
and belittles Guy for not getting the job done, and then Steven Bishop
attacked Guy from behind! It appears as though Guy has been kicked out
of the church!
Another vignette plays on screen, showing Cherry kneeling in front of
Rip Mystic, who is sitting on the couch. Suddenly, Spencer Powers walks
in and catches them. Cherry jumps back and reveals she was helping Rip
tie his boots. Spencer screamed at Cherry, then got in Mystic's face and
told him to stay away from her.
Next up was the Sinister Six Way elimination match. It seemed the entire
time that Sage and Morgan were completely outnumbered and ganged up on,
apparently what PHD had planned all along. It eventually came down to
Stan Sallinger and Billy Morgan, but Sallinger got the pin after Boston
ran back in the ring and nailed Billy with a chair.
The screen comes on and shows PHD walking up to Stan and Boston He
congratulated them on the great match, and then hired them to take out
Billy Morgan for him!
"The Spotlight" Spencer Powers faced off against "The Marvel" Shane
Matthews next. Spencer was yelling at Cherry the whole time he was in
the ring. The match came to an end after Cherry went to throw powder in
Matthew's face, but it hit Spencer instead. Marvel took advantage and
hit a Marvel Slam for the win! After the match, Cherry got in the ring
to apologize, but Spencer pushed her to the ground! He picked up the
crying cherry by the hair, and demanded she got to he back, screaming at
her the entire way!
The NMW Tag Team Champs "Danger" Doug Fraze and Tank Roberts faced off
against Chris Hazzard and Sinnister. They have battled these two men in
singles matches over the last few months, and were able to retain their
titles against them this night! After the match, they introduced their
tag team name "The Weapons of Mass Destruction!"
NMW double champ Michael Shard defended his Heavyweight Title against
Rip Mystic. During the match, Mystic appeared to injure his ankle. Shard
took advantage of this and applied the Figure Four, causing Rip to
immediately tap. This sent Spencer Powers to the ring, who got in Rip's
face and began insulting him. Suddenly, Shane Matthews ran to the ring
and attacked both Powers and Shard! Both men bailed, as Matthews got on
the mike and challenged Shard to a title match next month!
An awesome show indeed and it defiantly seems as though Broken Promises
is shaping up to be another great show! Also, be sure to tune into WQLZ
every Sunday night at 7:30 for the NMW Sunday Night Slam! |
