> Reckoning 2K4 The Rap Sheet - from the
Crimefighter The string of luck continues... First off, a note about the win-loss records. Ever since the promotion started up in April 2002 under the new name of New Midwest Wrestling, I've been for the heck of it compiling the records of each wrestler on the roster. It took a little while to refine it so it's a fair read on statistics, but I managed to get it done. One of the matches from the December's show was called "Naughty or Nice", where two wrestlers started the match, then as boxes were opened around the ring, more wrestlers entered the match seeking out the $1000 check in one of the remaining boxes. Five wrestlers were in the match, only one could win, and four others lose. Quinten Tyler who has a 2-6 record before tonight protests the inclusion of one of those losses, that being the "Naughty or Nice" match because of what kind of match it was. NMW President Jason Devall has stated that the match shouldn't count against anyone or for the winner cause it was for the check and his amusement. So, despite my dubiousness feelings on the matter, I have subtracted a loss from four men, and a win from one. It did not move anyone around in the top ten however, so if anyone gripes about the change they can talk to Quinten. *shrug* Your ring announcer is Jimmy "The Bruiser" Osbourne. Before the show began, they aired a highlight video of the match between Billy Morgan and Earl Grissom, then LPC's attack on Grissom. Rip Mystic's return was also shown, along with Madman's attack, which fans were bizarrely cheering. Finally the title change between Real World Jeremy and Tom Arson. Jimmy gives an announcement that no one should be copycatting anything the wrestlers do. Who's doing the copycatting? Tom Arson comes out for an interview. They need to let the entrance videos play a bit longer than they are doing. Someone shouts you suck, he says you suck shut up! HE'S talking and you're listening. It's a privilege for you to see him with the belt on his shoulder cause he's me, and you're not. He did what he said he'd do and didn't need anyone (except Mikey). Arson says RWJ's back there with his neck hurting. He says he wasn't in a good mood until a week ago, when he found out he has to fight three people. All three are unworthy, blah blah blah. None of them are half the worker that RWJ was. He's protesting the match, so he's gonna injure someone. Arson says enjoy the show with the parts that he's in, and the rest he doesn't care what you do, cause he's Tom Arson and you're not. And Arson acts like Chevy Chase. "The UNDERachiever" Billy Morgan (8-6) 5'10" 172lbs. Riverton, IL w/ Kev G vs. Tricky Dick Moore (1-2) 5'10" 180lbs. Beaverdale, PA - This is a rematch from two weeks ago. Tricky Dick has new music, and it MOST DEFINATELY doesn't fit him at all. I'm missing Run DMC here. The Colonel is the referee. Armdrag Billy, hip toss, slam. Dick with an armdrag, hip toss and slam. Billy backs off in the corner, Dick pulls a little bottle out of his tights, powders up his hands then chops away. Heh, that's cute. Bill flips him over, chops away weakly, Dick comes back with even HARDER chops. Billy yanks Moore out of the ring and chops him some more on the floor. They get back in, Moore whip back body drop gets two. Morgan with a poke, suplex gets two. Billy chokes him on the ropes. Whip reverse Dick with the clothesline, a second, suplex gets two. Dick with a whip, powerslam Billy gets two. Billy whip double clothesline, Billy comes to first, goes for the Sliced Bread #2 but Moore blocks it then there's a messy tripup botched move by Moore that gets two. Whip corner clothesline Moore gets two. Morgan with a LOW BLOW on the referee! Spinning neckbreaker by Moore, Kev G comes in with a chair, Moore intercepts it and blasts Kev and Billy with it, revives the ref and gets three for the upset win. Ah, they have Run DMC playing as Tricky celebrates. Billy Morgan pissed off that he lost superkicks Kev G! Well Morgan has got no one in his corner now, he attacked Cherry Malone, JJ Tank got injured while training, now Kev G has KO'ed. WINNER: Tricky Dick Moore pin -> (2-2) 7:40 mins. ** Toga Steve comes out for the next segment. He says last month two frustrating things happened to him. The first thing was being accused of taking out Benz, he understands why Cash was mad, so it's okay. The second thing was that he challenged Guy Smith to a match and got blew off like he didn't exist. He's ordering Smith to get in the ring with him right now. Guy Smith and Cherry Malone come out. Smith though is a bit injured from the match two weeks ago when he hurt his neck. Smith wants Jason Devall out here too. Smith complains that the main event does not involve Guy Smith and he's not booked at all tonight. Devall says he's right, so he makes a match for a heavyweight title. Smith says that's how things get done around here, cause he's the moneymaker. Devall says it's against Toga Steve. Toga says he'll see him later tonight superstar. "The Marvel" Shane Matthews (0-2) 6'0" 195lbs. Atlantic City, GA vs. Mr. Elite (0-1) ?'??" 220lbs. Minneapolis, MN - Shane was one of the four guys I subtracted a loss from. What makes him Elite anyway? Lockup, armbar Elite, hammerlock, Shane gets the ropes. Lockup, drop toe hold Shane, hammerlock Elite. They trade hammerlocks, takedown Shane, rollup Elite gets two, then they trade pincovers. Belly to belly slam Elite gets two. Rib breaker Elite gets two, camel clutch...but he lets go. Uh, that hold usually works if you hold it long enough, just ask the Iron Sheik. Elite with a whip, rollup Shane gets two. Choke on the ropes by Elite, suplex gets two. Small package Shane gets two. Turnbuckle smash Elite, choke. Whip Shane jumps Elite, armdrag, drop kick. Elite with a rake and bails out. Baseball slide drop kick Shane. MOONSAULT catches Elite from the top rope to the floor! EGAD! Toss in, hurraconranna is blocked, Elite with a powerbomb gets two. Slugfest in the ring, Benz is out here on the apron! Neckbreaker Elite, ref is checking Shane when Benz neck snaps Elite. Shane with a rollup and pins him! First win for Shane! Elite tries to attack Benz but gets a neckbreaker into Benz's side. What is that move anyway? WINNER: "The Marvel" Shane Matthews pin -> (1-2) 8:50 mins. *** Red (0-0) 5'9" 197lbs. Decatur, IL w/ Coop & Peter McDonald Sanders vs. Hardcore KC (0-4) 5'7" 170lbs. Kansas City, MO - KC suffered a quick defeat under four minutes a week ago. Drive Thru has a cooler with them, and drinks inside. Orange Gatorade. Jimmy points out his fan is over there. If PMS picks on the MMB Fan Club I'm gonna get after him. Shoulderblock Red, clothesline KC, hip toss KC, drop kick, Red bails and gets a drink. Side suplex KC, slam, suplex. Red bails out again, KC chases him. Coop with a clothesline on the floor, slam on the apron. Red with a suplex gets two, sunset flip KC gets two. Backslide gets two, small package KC gets two. Whip LOW BLOW Red, legdrop Red, second rope elbow gets two. Slam Red, elbow, he goes up, KC crotches him. Superplex KC gets two. Whip side elbow KC, whip KC, Red grabs him and telegraphs heavily what Coop tries next, he BLASTS someone with the cooler...except Red got hit. And geez, the thing is STYROFOAM! KC drop kick, whip punch to the back, some form of the neckbreaker that looked botched up gets KC the win. Man KC's music is full of cuss words. WINNER: Hardcore KC pin -> (1-4) 5:55 mins. ** Central Illinois Championship The Freshman (1-2) 5'8" 135lbs. Carbondale, IL vs. Lucious P. Cotrain (8-4) 5'10" 230lbs. Land of Lucious - Well now we have a rematch from last week at Club 217. Lockup, headlock LPC, Matt escapes. Headlock takdown LPC, waistlock Boston, takedown LPC, hip toss. Matt with a shoulder throw, LPC with a suplex. Matt with a suplex! Dang the Freshman suplexes someone twice as heavy as him. Slam LPC. Matt tries to slam LPC but can't lift him this time, so he clips the knee. LPC with a rake, whip crash in the corner. LPC slugs away, whip sideslam gets one. LPC whip, drop kick Boston and they both go outside opposite ends of the ring. Matt chases LPC but gets kicked, railed, and staired. Back in, whip sleeper hold LPC which is not locked in properly at all. Matt gets out of it, whip LPC goes back to the sleeper and still doesn't have it locked it proper. Matt elbows out, LPC back to the sleeper hold a third time and still has it on wrong. Rear headlock with an hand on his face instead of the forehead. Jawbreaker Matt, hurraconranna, drop toe hold, and he locks in the sharpshooter but LPC's in the ropes. LPC with a rake, rope burn. Whip drop kick to the knee by Matt gets two. Matt goes up but gets a clothesline on the way down. Fisherman's suplex LPC gets two. Rollup Matt gets two, small package, OK roll gets two. LPC does some move on Matt that looked horribly botched and unrecognizable, maybe a form of an arm slam, but pins him with it. Somehow I think I'm rating this one too high with the moves blown by LPC here. Matt made an excellent accounting for himself though. WINNER: Lucious P. Cotrain pin -> (9-4) 10:55 mins. **¾ "New World" Quinten Tyler (2-5) 5'11" 230lbs. Denver, CO vs. "Mr. Hollywood" Stan Sallinger (1-5) 6'3" 260lbs. Hollywood Hills, CA - I officially retire the overthrown president title for Stan. Quinten gives away his shades and autographs them for a kid in front of me. Stan teases doing the same but keeps the shades instead. Haha. Someone with a sign wants Stan to go home, and then a bunch of people turn their backs to him. I should point out there's a really loudmouthed member of the crowd tonight that's NOT me REALLY jeering certain wrestlers. Quinten NEEDS to get his own custom shirt instead of the RWJ shirt, such as the NWQ logo I made for him, cause half the time I keep mistaking him for Jeremy. Quinten has also protested one of those credited defeats, which I did take off. Lockup, Quinten kicks Stan. Whip reverse rollup Quinten gets two. Flying punch to the head by Quinten gets two. Hip toss NWQ, neckbreaker gets two. Side suplex Stan, whip side slam gets two. Snap mare, rear chinlock Stan, choke, slam gets two. Whip hip toss Stan, elbow gets two. There's a "hot dog Stan" chant going. Legdrop Stan gets two. Stan suplex is blocked, triple suplexes Quinten. Whip Quinten hits a messed up looking spinebuster. Quinten with the stance, goes for the pedigree, it's blocked with a LOW BLOW! Stan goes for the spinning full nelson slam but Quinten escapes it and it's KICK WHAM PEDIGREE to end it. Quinten personally rates his performance at 50*'s. WINNER: New World Quinten Tyler pin -> (3-5) 8:30 mins. **¾ Jimmy "The Bruiser" gives away a pair of tickets to the March show. They draw my number! Certain members of the crowd groan. First the WWE tickets, then the limo ride, then another pair of tickets. Now I have to worry about even more people claiming my head's getting bigger. NMW Tag Team Championship WINNERS: Tuff-N-Stuff DQ -> (3-1) 15:50 mins. ***½ #1 Contenders Match for Heavyweight Title WINNER: "Alpha Male" Guy Smith pin -> (18-7) 20:45 mins. **** Jason Devall comes out angry, he makes a lot of decisions that don't make people happy but he's gonna make a decision right now that will make a lot of people happy. He apologizes to James Welden and overturns the decision. Finally. WINNER: Toga Steve DQ -> (4-5-1) 20:45 mins. **** Guy Smith is LIVID and cusses up a storm. He screams at him that he's busted his butt and Devall's taken everything away from him, but Smith is better than everyone in this promotion, so he quits! Devall says fine, get outta here. Danger Doug Fraze comes out and tries to talk him out of it. We find out later when Smith went to the back he said "Why did I say THAT?" and was caught up in the moment. He did not sign any resignation papers and wrestled at Club 217 for the weekly show three days later. The video wall plays a commercial for NMW Warfare at Club 217 on Tuesday nights, then plays of all things a Quiznos commercial! The heck? They bought a TV ad? Weird. On to the main event. This block gets about ** so we'll split the difference and call it... WINNER and STILL CHAMP: "Trendsetter" Tom Arson pin -> (10-9) 34:20 mins. **¼ Match was high energy in the first half or so, but really slowed down once Sage was eliminated and the heels double teamed Scotty for a long while until Doug got knocked out, then it picked up again for the final ten minutes but by that time Arson had more gas in the tank. Arson finally gets revenge on Scotty for his role in screwing him out of the Central IL title in 2002 and his horrible year for losses. The Verdict: A bit better show wrestling wise than last month's but considering that they're wrestling every week now will they play up the importance of the weekly shows with the big monthly shows? I think they should had done that this month but strangely apart from the commercial, they didn't say anything about the happenings of the past two weeks and their effects on THIS show. |
