The Rap Sheet - from the Crimefighter
New Midwest Wrestling - Rivalry II
3/27/2K4 - Bradfordton, IL
The fan enters the
broadcast booth, now if everyone else was able to hear it...
The views expressed by Crimefighter are of his own and do not in any way
reflect the views of his friends, associates, family, all those people that
are associated with various wrestling companies listed here, or anyone else
on the planet. You know, why do I even have to include that crap? The
people who were whining about me putting in this disclaimer cause they think
the general public is too stupid to figure out that I speak for myself and
not the feds I'm writing about are the same kind of people who thought the
general public cannot match up the logos of the World Wildfire Fund and the
World Wrestling Federation correctly. Yes they're THAT STUPID.
Current members of the Rap Sheet Hall of Shame for censoring my reports:
MPW's Webprincess and Webmaster D, WCPW's Webmaster James, currently has no
fed Lee Miller, and ICW NC's Webmaster. All these guys fear the Rap Sheet!
Leading off we have some roster news. "The Discount Gigolo" Kenneth Mills
has left NMW again. He came back in October for the 35-man Royal Rumble
then the six man tag before taking off again, leaving his partner Tricky
Dick Moore in the lurch. He managed to make a singles career for himself
without Mills however. Derrik Damon, another wrestler who made his debut in
the 35-man Rumble has left the wrestling school for an indefinite period of
time, return is unknown. Three NMW wrestlers, Sage Ramsey, Guy Smith and
Mr. Elite went down to Louisville, KY to take part in workouts at OVW's
second annual tryout camps during the week of March 21st. Earlier in the
month some talents went up to Scott County Wrestling in the Quad Cities that
included Hardcore KC, Steven Bishop, Jason Wells, Mississippi Madman Don
Jackson, and Drive Thru. SCW is apparently Mr. Elite's home fed as he is a
regular up there, which is how the NMW guys got bookings.
Your ring announcer is Jimmy "The Bruiser" Osbourne. Your commentary team
is Rich Weities, and the Crimefighter. Yep, you read that right, the
Crimefighter was asked to do commentary during the first hour as the color
man rooting for the good guys while Weities does play-by-play rooting for
the bad guys. I ended up doing the whole show and we both did play-by-play
at times. This is a tryout for me, though I've done commentary before where
I was doubling as a cameraman for the two free admission shows. Usually
when I go to a show it's at 6:30pm when the doors open, but this time I had
to come out at 5:30pm. Surprisingly, there's already a line when I get
there. Inside I see and listen to things a fan normally would not, but not
wanting to know what will transpire during the show I voluntarily step
outside so it's not spoiled for me. I got a good look around the backstage
area for the first time ever, which I haven't gotten to see much of
previously. Weities arrives at like 6:45pm, due to his regular employment.
I'm filling the spot for whoever it is that was known as "Carmine" who
apparently kept "showing up drunk" at the commentator's booth according to a
source. Where should all the hate mail go to for putting me in the
commentator's booth? It's Rip Mystic! Anyone who's mad about me being in
the booth, gripe at him for it, POLITELY. Anyway big thanks to him for this
opportunity.
Hardcore Match
Benz (0-0) 6'3" 230lbs. "Yo Mamma's House" vs. Mr. Elite (1-2) ?'??" 220lbs.
Minneapolis, MN - Benz is off the disabled list for a leg injury after the
attack by Elite months ago, who apparently couldn't get himself booked for a
match so he had to steal one from someone else. Benz jumps him at the bell,
and they slug away, Benz whip clothesline over the top. Benz fills the ring
with stuff, lids, stop signs, chairs, crutches. Elite goes after that leg,
drops elbows, then twists that leg around his until Benz blasts him with the
lid, another lid shot, then a third gets two. Benz DDT on the sign for
two. LOW BLOW Elite. Elite gets the crutch, chokes away with it, then
whacks him. Turnbuckle smash Elite, whip belly to belly suplex on the sign
and crutch gets two. Elite kicks away on the leg, makes a wish on the
post. Benz yanks Elite's head into the post. Elite charges at Benz on the
floor and hits the post. Benz flying neckbreaker off the apron. Toss in,
and someone's music is playing. LPC, Stan Sallinger, Danger Doug Fraze, Guy
Smith and Cherry Malone all come out here, jump in the ring and beat the
crap out of Benz. Uh yeah.
NO WINNER: NO CONTEST -> 5 mins. ¾*
Guy Smith has the mike, he has something to explain. He says he didn't quit
for real, he went to Ohio Valley Wrestling this week, Friday night he had an
OVW contract and a resignation letter. He gets a call from LPC and Stan who
ask him why are you gonna give up on your two year war with the fans?
Nothing kept him down, he can't really go out in the crowd and beat up
everyone. He asks them to hold Benz up so Smith can slug him. Scotty Cash
finally comes out here with a chair. Jason Devall screams at Guy. Guy has
the new group GQ, he's not gonna stand for being held down anymore. Devall
says he never held him down from anything. LPC takes the mike and rambles,
Cash calls him fat Tom Cruise. Devall says he couldn't fight by doctor's
orders a couple months ago, but he got his title shot tonight. Stan
Sallinger has the mike, he's mad at Devall for costing him the presidency.
Devall says he's still got a career as a wrestler despite the actions of
Witchy. Doug has the mike, he asks what has he done for him. Devall says
he made Danger Doug Fraze and not doing Jimmy Osbourne's job. Devall says
for ruining the match, he goes through the already announced matches, LPC's
title match is now a case of beer on a pole match, Stan Sallinger will now
fight Mississippi Madman, Cherry Malone will have to fight the Freshman, and
Smith better get ready for Scotty Cash.

Rushville, IL vs. Lucious P. Cotrain (9-5) 5'10" 230lbs. Land of Lucious -
All right, LPC won this title shot all the way back in November, but knee

turn heel and lash out against everyone. LPC jumps him before the bell and

again, whip clothesline. Suplex LPC. LPC whip knee to the gut, bodyslam,

Billy Morgan and Kev G come out for an interview segment. Morgan says he's
got a problem and superkicks Kev G and kicks him repeatedly. Morgan hates
being with losers and wants to be taken seriously. PHD comes out, he says
he deserves so much better so he needs to make an impact. PHD has a new man
in his stable, and Kev G slowly gets out of the ring.
Tricky Dick Moore (2-3) 5'10" 180lbs. Beaverdale, PA vs. "Rather Charming"
Bradley Stephens (7-3) 6'0" 225lbs. Las Vegas, NV - I have Stephens ranked
as number one contender, yet the highest ranking guy he's beaten is Eric
Logan. He needs a bracket buster match of some sort cause the higher ups
aren't eager to give him any title shot consideration. Moore managed to
pull an upset on Billy Morgan, but I don't like his chances here. Stephens
obviously needs to keep winning to make the drum beat louder. Lockup,
waistlock THROWDOWN Stephens. He does it again. Weities wants the OOMPH in
the rap sheet, then calls me "crapfighter" for saying Stephens is either
rather charming or rather crappy. Okay, Rich Weities will now be known as
"Shredded Wheat". Tricky Dick with a takedown, suplex cover gets zero.

Man vs. Woman
Cherry Malone (0-0) 5'6" 140lbs. Springfield, IL w/ "Alpha Male" Guy Smith
vs. "The Freshman" Matt Boston (1-3) 5'8" 135lbs. Carbondale, IL - Cherry's
hometown has shifted over to New York City and now wants to be billed as
weight unknown, aka "none of your business." Weities gets mad at me for
saying her weight that was listed in her bio, claiming you're not supposed
to report a woman's weight. WHY NOT? I don't get why the wrestling feds
suddenly quit announcing weights for the women wrestlers. Anyway, it's a
lightweight versus a welterweight. Cherry slaps Boston, Matt ab stretch
then whips her, small package gets two. Cherry whip Boston hops over,
bridge cover gets one for the Freshman and she bails. Smith on the apron,
Freshman goes over and gets neck snapped. Smith yanks Boston outside and
slugs him. Toss in, Cherry chokes away, cover gets one. Cherry chokes
again and gets a zero count. Cherry slaps Boston on the head, inverted
atomic drop is messed up, neckbreaker Cherry gets two. Cherry slam gets

gives the Freshman the LITTLE INSPIRATION, ref sees nothing and Cherry gets
a very cheap three count.
WINNER: Cherry Malone pin -> (1-0) 7 mins. *½
We go to the back, Devall asks why Arson is off the card tonight. Arson
ignores Devall so he rips the magazine out of his hands. Devall says he's
still got a match tonight. Weities after telling me not to talk over stuff
earlier in the evening is talking during this segment. Stan Sallinger is
still in the ring. Madman goes after Stan but RON gives him the mike to
speak. Stan begs off and says he's followed RON-tology and there's not many
followers for them to fight each other. RON asks when he's tithed last,
Stan pulls out a wad of cash, RON gets mad at a small bill, Stan gives him a
bigger bill, then RON takes the whole wad and tells Jackson to lay down.
Mississippi Madman Don Jackson (2-0-1) 6'2" 400lbs. Olive Branch, MS w/ RON,
Steven Bishop, Jakob vs. Overthrown President "Mr. Hollywood" Stan Sallinger
(1-4) 6'3" 260lbs. Hollywood Hills, CA - Stan just covers and it's a record

Cash, without the drama.

Here comes Eric Logan and El Diablo Silverado, EDS screams that those titles
are ours and wants another title match tonight. RON says Tuff N Stuff have
to defeat the Madman in a handicap match to get another title shot, next

Steven Bishop, Jakob vs. Tuff-N-Stuff (3-1) - Eric Logan (10-7) 5'10"
173lbs. Palm Springs, FL & El Diablo Silverado (11-8) 5'8" 173lbs.
Beardstown, IL - For the record, I'm not counting handicap matches of
various configurations in the standings, cause it's loaded with too many
pitfalls. EDS gets on E-Lo's shoulders, crossbody EDS gets two. The cult
members trip Tuff N Stuff, they baseball slide them, the cult gets in the
ring and James Welden EJECTS them from ringside. Double clothesline has no
effect, clothesline takes down TNS, Madman throws E-Lo out, EDS slugs away,
RON threw a bottle as me as he leaves, Madman shoves him down. Jackson
splash in the corner, Madman pickup, whip clotheslines miss, EDS drop kick
in the knee. Armbar EDS, he walks the rope with it, sunset flip blocked,

clothesline. Wells with the firearm's carry slam, the whiplash gets two.
And all of GQ is out here again. Wells locks in a "Wells-mission" choke
hold and he submits!
WINNER: Jason Wells submission -> (6-7) 8:05 mins. ***
Guy Smith says he's gonna correct a few things, to have GQ to be taken
seriously, he says Fraze who used to work for Devall makes them look silly
so Mr. Elite is taking his place. Everyone delivers chairshots, Smith with
the Little Inspiration, then everyone punks him out. Doug's busted open,
Smith DDT on the chair. Smith says they're 4-GQ and anyone who rallies to
Devall's cause will end up like Doug. Devall wants the music shut off, he
makes a match for next month, it's 4-GQ vs. Hot Boyz, Matthews & KC in an

on a stretcher. They borrow my camera to snap pictures of the damage.

City, GA & Hardcore KC (2-4) 5'7" 170lbs. Kansas City, MO (0-1) - I dunno
how they decided on KC & Matthews getting the tag title shot, tag picture is

like.

#1 Contenders Match Playoff
"Toga" Steve Fisher (4-5-1) 5'10" 240lbs. Carbondale, IL vs. Sage Ramsey
(9-8) 6'4" 249lbs. Peoria, IL - Let's review here. We had an 18-man Royal
Rumble where the winner got a title shot at Tom Arson at the first Club 217
show, then at Final Reconking II we get another match where the winner gets
a title shot at Tom Arson. So now they gave away two title shots and
instead of having one go first in March then the other go in April, the NMW
board cops out and orders a playoff. Yeah, that's brilliant. Looking at
history, it was Ramsey & Jason Wells versus the Sigma Omega Betas when
Garret Ryan was still with NMW feuding over the tag team titles. Lockup,
waistlock Toga, reversed takedown Sage. Wrestling on the mat, headlock
Toga, Sage shoveoff, shoulderblock gets nothing. Lockup, headlock Sage,
Toga elbows out, clothesline Toga. Sage suplex, slam, snap mare, rear

pinball with Sage delivering the big boot. Tom Arson comes out here and
says he doesn't care who gets the title shot and can beat the both of them
with one arm tied behind his back. Devall is out here and isn't happy, so
he make a tag match between Arson & Morgan vs. Sage & Toga later. Weities
calls it a bunch of crap, so Devall comes over and reads him the riot act.
"Alpha Male" Guy Smith (17-8) 6'0" 255lbs. Rapid City, SD w/ Cherry Malone
vs. Scotty Cash (7-9-1) 5'9" 170lbs. "Yo Momma's House" - This is a rematch
from last June where they fought over the NMW title in a ladder match which
Scotty really won but Danger Doug interfered in and put the belt back up on
the rope. And yet Guy Smith forgot that little favor when he punked him
out. Cash comes out with a chair, then sits in it. Cash stalls the start
of the match by taking forever to ditch the chair. He slides the chair at
Cherry. Cash wants to shake hands but Smith just slaps the hand. Lockup

shoulderblock by Smith. Cash off the ropes, LOW BLOW, rake, clothesline

match.
WINNER: Scotty Cash DQ -> (8-9-1) 12:05 mins. **½
Benz, Shane Matthews, Hardcore KC jump in the ring and clear out the heels,
except for Stan Sallinger. They all beat on Stan, KC with the neckbreaker,
Shane with a version of the DVD, Benz with the Travesty. Benz with a slam,
Cash with a legdrop off the top rope. Now they beat Stan up with chairs, GQ
can't do anything, KC and Shane hold Stan up for a chairshot to the head.
"Toga" Steve Fisher (4-6-1) 5'10" 240lbs. Carbondale, IL & Sage Ramsey

can't believe this!
WINNERS: Tom Arson & Billy Morgan pin -> (2-0) 19:20 mins. ***½
Devall is out here with the mike again, he says there's two men owed a title
shot so next month it's gonna be a coin toss to decide who fights Arson
first, the other will wrestle a mystery opponent. Devall says go home and
sleep on his title belt and pray he'll still have the belt after First
Blood. Weities goes writing a note that says "Devall should be fired". He
better hope nobody sees that, well he did see it cause I showed it to him.
*smirk*
The Verdict: I enjoyed the show, mainly cause I was calling the action for
NMW itself in the booth this time, but for some reason even with videotape
handy I had a heck of a time deciding what to rate the matches. May have to
rewatch this again but I had to get this out the door. I didn't like
getting cheated out of two of the announced matches, though Benz had been
fighting illness quite recently. They did go through a whopping twelve
matches for the whole show, which may have been a bit of overkill. The
setup for new big feuds for the rest of the year have been set in place
following the formation of a new big heel faction. No big standout match so
it's thumbs leaning up. |
